Quebec Broadcaster RNC Media Inc. Chooses SDS Broadcast Management Software for its Radio Stations Across the Province
Toronto, Ontario – November 5, 2007 – Toronto-based SDS, Canada’s leading provider of broadcast management software, has announced that Quebec broadcaster RNC Media Inc. will roll out its broadcast management system to the network’s 16 radio stations across Quebec and Ontario. The announcement follows RNC Media Inc.’s installation last year of SDS’s system, called SDS Symphony, at its five television stations: CKRN-TV (an affiliate of Radio-Canada Television), CFEM-TV (an affiliate of TVA Network) and CFVS-TV (an affiliate of TQS Network) in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, and CHOT-TV (an affiliate of TVA Network) and CFGS-TV (an affiliate of TQS Network) in the Ottawa-Gatineau region. A fully-bilingual system, SDS Symphony is used by television stations, radio stations and cable networks across Canada and in the U.S. It is the only proven all-in-one broadcast management system integrating sales, traffic, programming, finance and operations, enabling a two-way flow of data to be shared across departments and eliminating the need to re-key information or use paper. With SDS, users access information on-line in real-time, filtered and formatted to meet their particular needs, whether they’re programming airtime, booking orders, scheduling promos, or producing sales and commission reports. “The significant efficiencies we experienced using SDS’s unified system for our television stations prompted our decision to extend the technology to our radio stations,” said Rejean Nadeau, Vice-President Finance and Administration at RNC Media Inc. “We initially chose SDS Symphony for our television network because our stations are geographically-dispersed and part of large affiliates that experience frequent last-minute programming changes, and we needed a robust, flexible system that could be tailored towards our needs,” Nadeau explained. “Now, we look forward to even greater efficiencies by bringing our radio stations into the mix and having access to an enterprise-wide, consolidated view of our entire TV and radio operations.” Dave Cole, President of SDS, explains that his company’s technology gives broadcasters better clarity and control of their information. “SDS symphony is focused on results. By providing broadcasters with a unified package that centralizes information in real time, they reduce redundancies and can easily adapt to changes in the marketplace as well as to their own future requirements,” he said. “In today’s constantly-evolving industry, broadcasters need to stay one step ahead of the competition and our technology allows them to make better, more profitable business decisions to maintain market share, increase revenue, and reduce costs,” Cole emphasized.
