Leading Canadian Provider of Broadcast Management Software, SDS, Announces Two New Contracts
Toronto, Ontario – November 12, 2007 – Two Canadian broadcasters are increasing their efficiency and maximizing profits by expanding their use of SDS’s innovative broadcast management technology. Toronto-based SDS, a leading Canadian provider of broadcast management software, has announced that it has secured the following two contracts: - Toronto-based Corus Entertainment Inc. has added SDS\Proposal to the operation of its two newest stations – Teletoon Retro and Cosmo. This brings the number of Corus Entertainment stations using the SDS technology to 10. YTV has benefitted from the SDS technology since 1986, followed by Corus stations W Network, CMT Canada, Treehouse, Discovery Kids, Scream and Telelatino and Teletoon.
- Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. (MLSE), headquartered in Toronto, has expanded its use of SDS\Proposal with the addition of Toronto FC into its broadcast network. Used by MLSE’s LeafSTV, RaptorsTV and NBA Canada since 2001, SDS\Proposal’s integration into the Toronto soccer network will allow the broadcaster to sell all of its properties in one combined package.
“The technology’s ease of use, flexibility and ability to easily be added into the networks, were key factors behind both broadcasters’ decisions to expand their systems,” explained Jim Anderson, SDS Vice-President, Client Services. “The new stations were seamlessly integrated with no down-time to users, while providing the broadcasters with expanded, proven tools to grow their sales base.” SDS\Proposal is part of SDS’s leading enterprise-wide broadcast management system, called SDS Symphony – used by television stations, radio stations and cable networks across Canada and in the U.S. SDS Symphony is the only proven all-in-one broadcast management system harmonizing sales, traffic, programming, finance and operations, enabling a two-way, real-time flow of data to be shared across departments and eliminating the need to re-key information or use paper. SDS\Proposal can be used as a stand-alone application or a unified component of SDS Symphony. SDS\Proposal is a powerful, easy-to-use sales presentation tool, designed to help sales representatives quickly prepare, and electronically send, custom-tailored proposals. Among the features of SDS\Proposal are the ability to: automatically build proposals in seconds, based on accurate, consolidated network data available in real time; send and receive orders electronically to and from traffic operations; speed up sales approvals via electronic routing; and combine or separate data as desired from an unlimited number of television and radio stations, or networks, for presentations or buys. “The full suite of SDS’s technology focuses on results, and by centralizing information in real time, it effectively reduces redundancies and costs, and increases profits,” said SDS’s Anderson. “The system can also easily adapt to changes in the marketplace and stations’ evolving requirements, giving broadcasters better clarity and control of their information, and greater opportunity for success in today’s competitive market.” About SDS Established in 1993, SDS is a leading provider of broadcast management software, offering a unique unified, on-line approach to sales, traffic, programming, operations and accounting.
