Canal Evasion Chooses SDS, Canada's Leading Supllier of Broadcast Management Software

Toronto, Ontario – October 31, 2007 – Toronto-based SDS, Canada’s leading provider of broadcast management software, has further broadened its reach in the Quebec market with the securing of a contract with Longueuil-based Canal Évasion, the province’s travel television channel.

The announcement follows the recent installation of the SDS broadcast management system, SDS Symphony, at Gatineau-based RNC Media Inc., which operates five television and 16 radio stations across Quebec.  A fully-bilingual system, SDS Symphony is used by television stations, radio stations and cable networks across Canada and in the U.S.

“With its ability to fully integrate, consolidate and manage all of our station’s data in a user-friendly way, SDS’s broadcast management system was the best choice for Canal Évasion,” said Guy St-Hilaire, the station’s Director, Finance and Administration. “The fact that the system is Canadian-made, has solid French-language support and is available at an excellent price point, was also key in our decision to go with SDS,” St-Hilaire explained.

SDS Symphony is the only proven all-in-one broadcast management system integrating sales, traffic, programming, finance and operations, enabling a two-way flow of data to be shared across departments and eliminating the need to re-key information or use paper. With SDS,users access information on-line in real-time, filtered and formatted to meet their particular needs, whether they’re programming airtime, booking orders, scheduling promos, or producing sales and commission reports.

“The technology actually gives broadcasters better clarity and control of their information,” said Dave Cole, President of SDS, emphasizing that individual stations in particular need to operate as efficiently as possible and reduce redundancies in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive and constantly-evolving industry.Focused on results, SDS Symphony supports forward-thinking broadcasters by enabling them to easily adapt to changes in the marketplace as well as to their own future requirements, Cole explained. “The system provides broadcasters with the automated tools they need to maintain market share, increase revenue and reduce costs, which ultimately translates into a solid return on investment,” Cole emphasized.
