SDS Reports is a very powerful report engine based on Microsoft’s .Net Remoting technologies in which the application processing is divided between the server and the client workstations.
SDS Reports provides the ability to assign various access rights for the reports based on the user. Different users can have different access rights to the reports.
Reports can be created and saved with specific filters, groupings and sorts. Saved Reports can be recalled anytime to run the Report again, with the same, or modified, criteria.
Once the report is generated you can view it before printing to ensure that your selections are what you want. Don’t worry, you can export it to Excel, Text file, HTML and PDF.
There are three areas you can report on currently: Revenue, Programming and Inventory.
I know what you are thinking. Why report on Programming? Broadcasters in some jurisdictions, Canada’s CRTC for example (known as Conditions of License) have requirements that must be met by the stations Programming activities.
You can also set up corporate targets. For example, the number of hours of children’s programming per year, that you want the Programming department to achieve.
Here is a sample of what you can get in the Revenue area:
- Calendar Format: Broadcast, Calendar or Stub Period
- Reporting periods include Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semiannually, YTD
- Gross/Net of Agency and/or Rep
- Budget by Rep
- Budget by Office
- Weekly Activity
- Year to Year
- Average Unit Rate
- Eighteen grouping options
- Advertiser, Agency, Office, etc.
- Sorting: Of course. We wouldn’t have it otherwise
Here is a sample of what you can get in the Programming Area:
- Frequency: All, Yearly, Monthly, Weekly, Daily
- There are three levels of detail that can be selected for creating the Reports:
- Summary – this will display totals only for Condition(s) based on the selected time period of the Report.
- Daily – the daily option will provide Daily Totals for the Conditions based on the selected time period of the Report.
- Pgm – Program detail. This is the highest level of detail and will display the Program/Episodes for each Condition based on the selected time period of the Report.
- No more wasted time running individual reports. Can run multiple reports at the same time
- What’s in the report?
- Amount of Commitment
- Time Period
- Total Hours in Time Period Report Range
- Total Hours in Report Range
- Forecasting: We can predict performance into the future based on a combination of as aired logs and future, scheduled programming.
Here is a sample of what you can get in the Inventory Area:
- There are three levels of reports:
- Summary – Reports on avails for particular program or rotation and skim information.
- Detail – Same report as summary but details which days of week are spots booked to. Avails are also broken down to individual days
- Contract Listing – this will give you a report of all contracts booked to a particular program or rotation including issue date of line.
- Can report on certain spot types – Billboards, for example.
- Can determine the avails length to be reported on (15 , 30 or 60 seconds for example)
